I built my synthesizer studio by “building three and selling two.” What that means is, when I wanted a module, I would buy three sets of PCBs and Panels, buy components to build three circuits, build three, keep one (usually the first one I built) and sell the other two in order to recoup my costs. I usually came a head by a little bit, but I had to be patient, honest, and support mu builds. I advocate this approach for anyone who is building on a budget.
Yes. If you have the experience, skills, you are welcome to build AI Synthesis modules for others and sell them. Here are the rules:
You have to support your builds. I will not support them. When I was “building three and selling two” I would usually make a youtube video of a given module functioning as “proof of life” before carefully packing it and sending it off. Customer service is not everyone’s favorite activity. If you are not ready to ship items quickly, handle a few emails, and a possible return, you should not go down this road.
If you want to build and sell modules, you are welcome to. Buying PCB+Panel sets should make you adequate profit. I do not discount boards or panels to individuals, I simply give you permission to build units and sell them for profit. I don’t ask for subsequent royalties or anything complicated like that.
You may NOT mass or hand-produce versions of my boards and sell them commercially, nor can you sell your own kits, just finished modules.
