Product Details

The AI002 DIY Mixer Kit is an updated take on a classic utility audio or cv mixer. All three inputs have a level control, with full clockwise allowing full volume prior to the summing mixer. Perfect for adding audio inputs to a filter, or cv inputs to a cv input, and other mixing functions. This kit is ideal for those who know how to solder, but are still starting out in their DIY Synthesis journey.

This diy mixer kit will not only familiarize yourself with IC Chips, Capacitors, and Resistors, it will also add a key utility module to your DIY Modular Synthesizer.

This is an ideal kit for a beginner learning DIY electronics, and requires no wiring at all! All parts are soldered directly to the PCB for ease of building and can be built in under an hour.

We recommend this kit as the second module you build. It is easy, and can be built in a single sitting. If it works, you are ready to build other modules.

The Eurorack Kit Contains everything you need to build your first DIY Analog Synth Module:

  • High Quality 3.5 mm Jacks
  • A PCB
  • A Eurorack Panel
  • High quality Alpha Potentiometers
  • All components required to build the AI002 Mixer.
  • Mounting screws
  • Power Cable

Awesome learning curve, super detailed build guides and videos, great modules.

Middle aged human who is brand new to soldering, electronic component wrangling, and flux fume avoiding. I found the guides extremely well-crafted and I noted the care and time that was put into creating them. I was made to feel like a part of a community of enthusiasts and not merely a consumer, which I really appreciate. The build was a success, the packaging and instruction were superb, and I’ll keep making modules as a result. Win all around. Would highly recommend this as a first or second build.

This is a great kit. I tried building a fuzz guitar pedal once, which fried immediately. After building a few passive modules to get my soldering skills down, and a 4ms PEG which surprisingly worked, I picked up one of these mixers for a cheap DIY project while chilling in quarantine. This thing only took about an hour to put together, and it worked perfectly. The instructions are really well written, especially if you don’t have any soldering experience. Just make sure you read them all the way through before you begin. It’ll answer any questions you may have. I learned a lot building this module, and it gave me enough confidence to order a VCO which is a little more complex. So thanks, AI, for making these hard times a little more bearable.

This was my second modular build ever (after a mult) and It works great! Prior to this, I’ve had a long an troubled history trying to build electronics. Abe was able to tell me that the soldering tool, I’d been using was way too big and the tip was pretty bad. Armed with this new knowledge and some soldering tips he gave, I was able to get the right gear and to clean up the mistakes I’d made. If you haven’t done much before, or like me you’ve screwed up a lot in the past. . .order some stuff from AI Synthesis. He’ll talk you trough any problems you encounter. . . It’s like a life coach for DIY synths. 🙂 So, after building the AI002 Mixer I went on to build the AI003 Looping ADSR. (Also Awesome) Then, other modules from some other companies, that were WAY more complex then I ever though I’d ever be able to do. I seriously can’t recommend AI gear enough. It sounds great, works great and the help (if you need it) is amazing. Thanks Abe!

Second time using a soldering iron, and first time with a powered unit. Still only took me about 45 minutes being obsessive about connections, and I didn’t even catch fire. I’m excited about CV-mixing functionality, though blending voices also a much-needed utility, and the master knob has a pretty awesome 15 degrees or so of overdrive at the end. I’m definitely planning on getting deep into some filters next, based on this success.
